This quatrian deals quite clearly, with taxes, debt, and financial crisis, but this one has a spiritual dimension as well, and forces us back to a second possible reading of 8/28, in which, "fake versions of gold and silver" become false religious icons. The Koran claims that there have been 200,000 prophets, but that only six are significant, in that they have brought in new laws and dispensations. These six are Adam, Noah,Abraham,Moses,Jesus and Muhammad. A prophet is, technically speaking, one who announces the divine will, and stems originally from Ancient Greek, although the meaning is strictly Hebrew. The Hebrews themselves recognized many prophets, and the Gautama Budha, of course, would also come under this category, though he encapsulated the Light, rather than merely interpreting it. Nostradamus, though a scryer and  seer, would certainly not have considered himself amongst their number, however.
The Roman goddess Diana's day is Monday, as she took over, amongst other things, the post of goddess of the moon from the Greel goddess Artemis. The Roman habit of filching things from the Greeks rather muddies the water where Diana is concerned, but she was also supposed to promote the union of communities, and represent plebeians and slaves. In France Saint Lunedi was the Saint associated with Mondays, and it became, in consequence, a day of rest for workers, further cementing the links in the first two lines of the quatrain. Although this does not bring us much closer to the identity of the "last but one holder of the prophet's name", it does lead us vey nicely into 2/29-2029 (the sun I), which is most probably what Nostradamus intended.

Summary


Following the great financial crash of 2028, a spiritual vacuum can be detected throughout Western society. This triggers a gradual return to organised religion, and a concomitant revival in spirituality and religious practice.
